Sebastiano Sing (*1988/Tegernsee, Germany) is a performer and choreographer currently based in Vienna. His choreographic practice dialogues with desires for atmospherical sensations and narratives of poetic imagery and aesthetics. He investigates the performative aspects of masculinity, pleasure and trauma. Sebastiano Sing’s work has been shown at festivals and in exhibition contexts in London, Lisbon, Belgrade, Venice, Munich and Vienna. Engagements as performer have taken him to various European cities and festivals, including the Biennale Teatro in Venice, (2018), the Venice Art Biennale (2015), steirischer herbst (2016) and Wiener Festwochen (2017). He studied Performative Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and graduated with Highest Honor. He received the 2020 Startstipendium (grant) for Performing Arts, awarded by the Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture in Austria and the prestigious danceWEB grant of the ImPulsTanz International Dance Festival 2021. Amongst others, he collaborated with Milos Lolic, Christopher Rüping and Gisèle Vienne. He was engaged as assistant director at Münchner Volkstheater (2012/2013).
