Sebastiano Sing born 1988 in Tegernsee, Germany, is a performer, actor and director/choreographer based in Vienna, Austria. Since 2014, his works have been shown in London, Lisbon, Belgrade, Venice, Munich and Vienna. Engagements as performer have taken him to various European cities and festivals, including the Biennale Teatro in Venice, (2018), the Venice Art Biennale (2015), steirischer herbst (2016) and Wiener Festwochen (2017). His new piece DISCO DESIRES premiered at MUSA WIEN on 19th February 2020.
Sebastiano Sing studied Performative Art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, graduated with distinctions in 2018. He got awarded with Startstipendium 2020 (grant) for Performing Arts and Music by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture and Sports. In Summer 2019, Sebastiano Sing was selected participant of ATLAS, the training program for emerging dance artists at ImPulsTanz Vienna. He holds a scholarship for the professional performer’s training program at Tanzquartier Vienna in the season 2018/19. Furthermore he was masterclass student at Venice Biennale Teatro College 2018 and 2016 and at ruhrtriennale 2017.
In the seasons 2011/12 and 2012/13, he was Assistant Director at Münchner Volkstheater, Munich. He also worked as artistic director for guest performance tours of Münchner Volkstheater at BITEF festival Belgrade and in Germany and Italy. Amongst others he collaborated with Thomas Dannemann, Milos Lolic, Mareike Mikat, Christopher Rüping and Simon Solberg. Sebastiano also works as freelance dramatic advisor in theater and dance.
