My passion for art manifested when I was 7 years old. We lived in Russia. I took old children's books with beautiful illustrations, put a sheet of paper on them, and transferred the drawing. Then I colored it, hid the book behind the wardrobe, and showed the drawing to my mom. After a while, my naive mom decided that her daughter had a talent and took me to art school. I remember how, during the interview, the teacher pushed aside all my "artworks" and told my mother: You don’t need to show these drawings, I’ll get her to school.
I didn't stay long at school. After a couple of months, I was kicked out because instead of painting landscapes, I and my friend splattered paint on the sheet and on each other. And it was great! But for some reason, no one appreciated this beauty. And then, while cleaning, my parents moved the wardrobe away from the wall and found all the books I had hidden.
After that, my desire to become an artist disappeared for 45 years. But as we know, you can't run away from yourself. In March 2021, while reading an article about Crypto Art, I felt that something strange was happening to me. For two weeks I felt like I was going crazy. Once I woke up at 5 in the morning, grabbed my phone and wrote a note in Keep:
"A Dot is an art object. Magnifying a digital image allows presenting a dot as its own space in which secret meanings and content can be stored."
Thus the concept of 1000 Dots Art was born.
There is a rumor that it takes many years for an artist to find his own style. There is one big benefit to my belated self-awareness as an artist. I don't need to find my style. It found me by itself. Ideas and concepts obsessively climb into my head. And all that remains for me is to implement them one by one.
