My name is Ashveena Shoodihal, I am a contemporary dancer, dance teacher and author.
I was born in Sicily but grew up in Milan, and I have Mauritian origins by my
parents.
I started learning dance from primary school in little realities in Milan, like courses led by the oratory and after school-sports associations.
I carried with me this passion while growing up exploring different kinds of dance, focusing
more on street dances such as hip-hop.
In 2017, I came across CIMD International Center of Movement and Dance, directed by Franca Ferrari where I discovered a different use of the body and started my professional course in contemporary dance.
The school offeres a specific dance program focused on movement research and performing arts. Indeed, after 10 years of practice I can affirm that research on movement is my path, and is a discipline that never gets me bored by definition.
I later discovered technique and contemporary dance aesthetics studying with Serena Zanconato with Micron.
As an artist I try to foster creation in performative arts with research on movement while sharing my knowledge through teaching.
