Read MoreShane is a London-based contemporary jewellery artist who completed his BA at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and graduated with an MA from the Royal College of Art in 2026. Trained as a jewellery appraiser, evaluator, and jade carving artist, his practice bridges refined craftsmanship and conceptual inquiry. His work has been exhibited internationally in China, America, UK, and several Europe countries, and featured in publications including Youth Vision, China Daily, Sina News, etc. In 2026, he received an Award in precious jewelry from the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council, recognising excellence in craftsmanship within the UK jewellery industry.
Recent exhibitions include No Longer, Not Yet at the Barbican Centre Conservatory and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, the AUTOR Fair 2026 at the National Museum of Romanian History, The Invisible Made Visible by Blackdot Gallery during London Craft Week, the Slovenia Jewellery Week 2026, and most recently the FORGE Third Anniversary Exhibition.
Shane’s practice resists fixed stylistic boundaries, unfolding instead through thematic series. His current work explores identity, memory, and ritual as fluid and evolving conditions rather than stable forms. Grounded in Eastern cultural contexts and informed by ethnographic approaches, his work investigates how personal history, migration, and collective memory can be embedded within objects of adornment.
Working between precious jewellery techniques and experimental material processes, Shane questions the relationship between contemporary jewellery and traditional notions of preciousness. Relief carving, gemstone cutting, and metal construction play central roles in his practice. For Shane, jewellery functions as a narrative medium — a symbolic and story-driven form through which personal experience and broader social realities can be articulated.
