In her installations, Seongwon Park reproduces socio-architectural constellations that are taken from the diverse urban environment, exposed as entities to a distanced observation in the exhibition space.
Multiple overlapping memories of recurring patterns of our environment express themselves as an idealized/reduced form that, compared to everyday casual observation, point to a dimension of social meaning, social function, or the "unseen obvious."
Born in Korea in 1990, she has studied sculpture since her stay in Germany at the Muthesius Academy of Art; Kiel and currently at the University of the Arts; Berlin in the class of Ina Weber.
