His main subject in sculpture is the human figure and themes such as maternity, childhood, and also classic public space portraits. Virgil Scripcariu is one of the most appreciated sculptures of his generation in Romania. He lives with his family in Piscu, a former potters village near Bucharest, where he involves in safeguarding local heritage. Together with his wife, he raised a museum dedicated to the clay and its potential - peasant ceramics and other traditional ways of using the clay. The courtyard of the museum became a sculpture field, a place where contemporary creation and roots come together.
