Uriel Schmid-Tellez, of Swiss-Mexican nationality, was born in Lugano, where he attended the School Centre for Artistic Industries (CSIA) from 2010 to 2014. It was there, among the teaching staff, that he found one of his first sources of inspiration: the painter Adriano Pitschen, who, together with Graham Sutherland and Francis Bacon - the subjects of his high school final paper - laid the foundations for his young painting.
After completing his studies, Uriel devoted himself to synthetic painting, in which figuration and nature are the dominant elements, and, having just returned from a double group exhibition he co-curated in 2015, he exhibited his works in two solo shows during the same year.
Since 2015 he has been participating in collective exhibitions and competitions. Since 2016 he has been attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna (ABABO), where he continues his work and his pictorial research.
