Schirato

Susanne Schirato is a Brazilian visual artist based in Miami. Working across painting, textile, installation, embroidery, and video, she translates experiences from scientific expeditions and technical cave diving into contemporary artistic forms that explore perception, territory, memory, and the relationship between human presence and the natural world.

Her recent solo exhibitions include Headwind at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami (2025); Expedição at Centro Cultural Correios, Rio de Janeiro (2025); Emersão (2025); and Águas Profundas (2024), curated by Felipe Barros de Brito. Her work has also been presented at Coral Springs Museum of Art, Leme Gallery, the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami, and the Consulate General of Mexico in Miami.

Schirato holds a degree in Visual Arts and a postgraduate degree in Contemporary Artistic Practices from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP). She is a member of The Explorers Club and has participated in expeditions to Antarctica, the Arctic, and submerged cave systems throughout Brazil.
