I was born and raised in the West suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I attended the University of Colorado Boulder to study Film and Psychology before transferring to the Art and Art History Department to pursue painting. I graduated in 2017 with a BA in Art Practices and a BA in Art History. After living in NYC for the past three years working various jobs for galleries and film festivals, I have decided to move on in search of alternate possibilities for true creative freedom. 

 living in a society that allows veracious corporate control over the physical and visual structures of culture, I am interested in investigating the ways images are used to manipulate and whether it is still possible to develop visual structures for alternative cultural, physical and metaphysical realities beyond the ones developed for us. The conditions in which we are living trend towards a substitution of lived experience with consumption, and reliance on digital images as a stand-in for connection. I believe painting to be an essential tool for understanding the world that is developing around us.
