CV Nadia Sawas – full time artist
I have been living and working full-time as an artist in Zurich since 2022. My career as an artist is still young; I have only been exhibiting since the second half of 2023. I have a lot to say and have found ways to express myself through painting. So far it's going well; I've turned down some galleries (they were not very good to be honest) and I'm now going to work with a small one from Geneva (Bowie Creators).
My works focus on womanhood and being a woman in society. The series "Resonating Bodies" highlights the field of tension between women and society; it processes comments and statements that I heard repeatedly as a girl, teenager and adult woman and that have shaped me against my will. My experience is exemplary for the imprints that other women have experienced through our society - be it from our female or male relatives, work colleagues, friends or enemies. The socially critical works are deliberately raw, brutal an uninhibited.
A few years ago, I was able to obtain Italian citizenship thanks to my now sadly deceased nonna, who was born in Lamon (province of Belluno). It is very important to me personally to get to know Italy as a part of my heritage better. This is also why I got married in Venice in 2016 - what a feeling it would be to exhibit in this city that I so dearly cherish!

EXPERIENCE
2021 Spokesperson and Corporate Communications Officer for ImmoScout24
There I held sole responsibility for the Immoscout24 press office. I defined the PR strategy for ImmoScout24 and was responsible for budget desicions. Despite great colleagues and good earnings, I decided at the end of 2021 to make art the center of my life.
Time out in 2020 - travel, art, culture and gardening
After realizing that my last job wasn't making me happy, I took a year off to reorient myself. I painted a lot and could hardly stop. But I still lacked the courage to devote myself fully to art.
2017- 2020 PR Editor and Spokesperson for Balanx AG and Generali Schweiz
After various jobs during my studies, including in the financial sector, I made my way into the PR industry.
It all started with a six-month traineeship. Because I was good at what I did, I stayed and quickly worked my way up.
