Dr Katrina Sadrak (b. 1978) is an international artist from Poland. Author of numerous individual shows and participant of over 150 collective exhibitions in Europe and Asia. Her paintings are in private and institutional collections: The Hindiyeh Museum & Gallery in Amman, Jordan; Haegeumgang Theme Museum, Yukyung Art Museum in South Korea; Nasca Contemporary Art Collection in Tianjin, China and more.
After finishing her MA studies, she continued to perfect her painting techniques in eastern China at Tianjin Polytechnic University, where she studied eastern art and practiced traditional chinese lacquer painting and calligraphy. In 2021, she received a Ph.D. in Fine Arts at the J. Kochanowski University in Poland.
Dr. Katrina Sadrak engages in dialogue with astronomers, cosmologists and astrophotographers. She is developing artworks inspired by the rich imagery of space however she desires not just to observe but to look beyond. She explores images of the Universe through traditional painting techniques. Her large-scale oil paintings express her fascination about the Cosmos and Space, the formation of the early Universe; massive clouds of cosmic dust, vast structures of cosmic webs and Nebulae. Her artworks resemble ‘samples’ of the most distant parts of the Universe and echoes of the Big Bang.
