Carmela is an Italian-born spiritual artist, living in London, whose
journey into art has been shaped by resilience, transformation, and an enduring
love for creative expression.
For many years, she worked in the corporate world, but her true desire
was always to be an artist. After leaving corporate life, she discovered a deep
passion for mosaic art and from that moment, she never stopped creating.
Her intuitive practice evolved during lockdown, when she developed her
signature One-Line Collection, a
distinctive one-line drawing technique where a single continuous line is
used not just to outline the form, but also to fill in, shade, and essentially
“colour in” the artwork. She created
immediate, energetic drawings born from raw emotional states, which later
transformed into meditative explorations of colour.
Using ink-gel pens, fine liners, colouring pencils, and soft pastels,
she channels her emotions into forms that reflect both resilience and
transformation.
Alongside her professional career, she co-authored two books and
regularly contributed articles to magazines, continually exploring new ways to
express herself through words and creativity.
This year she will hold her third solo exhibition at Greenwich Library
in London, presenting a 30-piece collection that reflects her transformative
life experiences. Some of her series include Seeds of the Soul and Heart Energy colourful works representing
alignment, joy, and spiritual flow; UNTIMED,
a collection of tiny spontaneous drawings created during moments of pause to
release anxiety and reset energy; and the Patterns
Series, playful two-line works inspired by joy and milestones.
More recently, Carmela developed her Soul
Prints Series, working with soft pastels and touch alone. By blending
pigment directly with her fingertips, she creates tender, whispering works that
reflect vulnerability, healing, and sacred presence. Some of these works have
evolved into a 51-card oracle deck, extending her art into a tool for guidance.
Across her series, Carmela’s work remains rooted in transformation
turning pain into beauty, chaos into flow, and emotion into colour. Her art is
not only a personal process of healing and self-expression but also an
invitation for others to embrace their creativity, discover their sacred
spaces, and experience the power of transformation through art.
Her vision is to inspire others to trust their
inner gifts and to find healing through creativity.
