Daniella Rubinovitz was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She is an Amsterdam-based artist (Bachelor of Fine Arts degree | Tufts University, Boston USA| Expressive art course, Atelier Molenpad, Amsterdam, NL) working with steel, wood, and bronze to create larger than life sculptures that connect everyday life with the natural world. Her sculptures are often designed for public interaction. Her visual language includes positive and negative space, connection to the environment, pathways and movement with figuration.
Deep feelings reached through art therapist techniques (Bachelor of Arts Therapy | College Leiden, NL & Light and darkness training, Emerald Foundation | The Hague, NL) connect to a place of understanding. She uses humor and wit to make art approachable. Her work aspires for public interaction through the arts.
Technical industrial design skills (Master of Industrial Design Degree | Pratt Institute, Boston, USA) come in handy during each phase in designing and producing large sculpture installations. She navigates each phase, from initial sketch to production and installation with materials that best express the story (steel, wood, stone, ceramic, bronze, glass and paint,) striving to include sprinkles of innovation.
Daniella utilizes coaching techniques to include local community participation workshops. She aspires her art to be a connection portal between people through the ages of time. Daniella has experience with temporary outdoor land art installation in Switzerland and Greece and in permanent outdoor installations such as Giant Pink Glasses which was purchased by the city of Amsterdam.
