Her first videos, "And Others" (1999),
"Medicine" (2000) and "Abracadabra" (2001), surprised
viewers with their documentary, but at the same time lyrical, slowed-down
message that gave an idea of in everyday events encrypted fairy tale.
I. Rubeze's work is characterized by a clear conceptual core
of art works, the revelation of thought paradoxes, wit and special out of time radiation.
As a member of artists group “Famous Five“ she has
represented the Republic of Latvia in the 25th International São Paulo Biennale
(2002) and the 51st and 50th International Art Exhibitions of the Venice Biennale

Contemporary Art Kiasma in Finland (2005), “Rīga dimd!“ (2010) in Rostock, and many
other.
In 2015, Rubeze's sculptural work entitled “Ghost“ won the jury award in a competition hosted by the Foundation of Boris
and Inara Teterev “Art in Public space“ and with the support of patrons was
implemented in Rigas urban environment. It can be seen in Old Riga,
