Ben Rousseau is an award-winning lighting artist and designer specialising in the relationship between material, light and form.
Born in Australia, and then growing up in England's oldest recorded town - Colchester, Ben had a desire to shape the future.
With an early interest in the styling of futuristic films such as Blade Runner, Star Wars and James Bond. He admired the work of the visionary conceptual artists that made these films what they are by Syd Mead, Ralph Mcquirie and Ken Adam, respectively.
These pioneering influences led to a hunger to create exciting and innovative work that remains a staple in his creations today. A deep understanding of high tech machinery and manufacturing processes has allowed Ben to create art and designs that help move the modern world forward.
With a broad portfolio of work that includes kinetic artworks, high tech home decor and artistic installations at London’s prestigious V&A museum, illuminated ice-suites at the Ice Hotel, Sweden and kaleidoscopic stages at Burning Man in the Nevada Desert, to name a few.
Bens recent work focuses on the relationship of light and time with a well-being emphasis on improving how we live in the here and now.
