Laura Rota is a Milanese artist who creates abstract and geometric paintings, all
rigorously painted with brushes without the use of masking.
Years of work as a successful graphic designer have shaped her sense of
compositional and chromatic balance, transforming it into a creative need that the
artist explores through painting in the “Rotations of Circles” series.
The composition of the paintings in this series is based on the repetition and
intersection of circles. For the artist, the circle is the most harmonious geometric
shape. It is full of positive meanings, representing the cyclicity of life, a flow of
continuous energy and movement, and is a symbol of spirituality. Through the
centripetal composition of her paintings, she aims to foster a sense of calm and
relaxation that encourages a free flow of thoughts.
The color palette is carefully selected, never chosen at random, but paired with
an awareness that comes from deep knowledge and experience in the use of color
harmonies and contrasts.
Her sources of inspiration come from nature, the colors of flowers, and landscapes,
especially night skies. Another significant source of inspiration is the study of colors in
the paintings of great artists of the past.
Through the meticulous combination of form and color, her paintings become not
just a decorative element but a harmonious and intentional addition to the spaces they
inhabit.
