Dayana Patricia Castillo Romano (Mexico City, 1992)
Dayana Romano discovered art at an early age, influenced by her mother’s long-standing involvement in the field. This connection nurtured her creative development and inspired her search for identity through artistic expression.
Her practice is rooted in exploring emotions, memories, and inner states that cannot always be expressed in words. Through color, texture, and loose strokes, she enters a meditative process that transforms the canvas into a space for self-reflection. Her abstract work evokes the intimate connection between nature, the cosmos, and the body, using painting as a tool for transformation and self-knowledge.
She studied Architecture and later expanded her artistic practice through ceramics workshops. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in León, Guanajuato, including La Expresión del Ser (2021), Panorama (2022), and Alacridad, Intimidad y Vacuidad (2024). In 2023, she received the Acquisition Prize at the II Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo, Barco.
Dayana currently lives and works as an interior designer, architect, and artist in León, Guanajuato.
" I´M IN LOVE WITH SELF EXPRESSION AND HOW ART REACHES OUT TO THE NON VISIBLE LAYERS WE HUMANS HAVE. FOR ME ART IS A WAY IN WHICH OUR SOUL COMMUNICATES AND THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I PRACTICE ART IN MY LIFE ! "
