Matteo Roetto was born in Pinerolo - Italy - in 1990, under the sign of Capricorn, which makes him adamant and determined.

He encounters painting early in his age and has not stopped since. His frantic artistic study has brought him to discover and own different styles and various contents. Moving to Turin inspires him to open up to the public audience, allowing him to display his most recent work in some collective showrooms. The art of the brush is an introspective self-discovery tool for Matteo: painting forces him to question the “magical” processes which lead simple materials to merge.

The artist’s research is to find a new form of emotion that may involve the viewer as a first-hand participant of everyday reality, revised under a new perspective. Ultimately, Matteo believes that painting does not necessarily need any metaphysical contemplation, for it is subjective in its intrinsic nature - both as a tangible outcome and as a concrete object.

Art must communicate itself.
