My name is
Robert Schwander, born in 1961 in Lucerne and raised on a farm in Römerswil. I
spent many years of my life working as a farmer, which has profoundly shaped my
deep connection to nature. In parallel, I pursued my artistic practice as a self-taught
artist, drawing inspiration from biodynamic agriculture. These concepts — which
emphasize balance and the vitality of nature — have not only influenced my work
on the farm but also my creative process.
For me,
it’s about finding balance — in nature, in life, and in art. Biodynamic
agriculture teaches us that nature is a living system in which every element is
connected, and this idea is reflected in my paintings.
As an
artist, I strive to explore the deep connections between humans, nature, and the
invisible forces of life. In my work, I address the harmony and tensions that
exist within our environment and seek to make them visible.
