Born in Chicago, Cherri Rittenhouse was exposed to professional artists, museums and galleries at a very young age. After focusing on art throughout high school, she went on to receive her BFA from Rockford University and her MFA from Northern Illinois University. Rittenhouse was a professor of art for more than two decades, specializing in painting, drawing and art history.
Rittenhouse has exhibited her work in the USA, Mexico, Austria and Sweden. From 1989-1994, she was represented by the Phyllis Kind Gallery in Chicago. In 2009 her work was featured at the Vida Museum in Borgholm, Sweden. Cherri Rittenhouse currently splits her time between Mexico and the USA where she keeps her studios.
