I never expected to be a painter. At the age of eleven I visited the Guggenheim museum in New York. I was overwhelmed by its volume, the space it shaped, the round shapes and walls, walking upwards around the centred hall. Still it is one of my favourite buildings in the world. In the same holiday we visited the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and although I was impressed, still remembering the visit quite well, i was always looking for the space behind them. The effect of those two visits are still visible in my paintings.
My paintings always offer a new perspective. Something I have discovered, a fresh insight, a different way of seeing. They reflect my curiosity, my search for deeper meanings and new philosophies. They are a place to immerse yourself in and always discover something new.
The names of the paintings reveal their essence and even after they are completed, they continue to reveal more. I hope they keep doing specifically that for a while…..not only for me as an artist, but for everyone who gets the chance to meet them.
