My name is Alfonso Reyes, and I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in July 1994. From a young age, I was drawn to art, with a particular passion for drawing, which later influenced my decision to pursue a career in architecture. As an architect and visual artist, I focus primarily on painting and sculpture, where my fascination with color serves as the main resource in my work. Through color, I aim to convey the emotions embedded in my pieces. My artistic journey is marked by a constant search for expression, often centered on the human face and figure. I explore these subjects by deconstructing them to capture the essence of what I wish to represent.
Art has always been a refuge for me—a space where I can express myself and critically examine the society we live in. I believe that art holds the potential to change the world, or at the very least, to inspire reflection, leading to a more thoughtful way of living.
Since 2019, I have been living between Montevideo and Barcelona, where I continue my artistic exploration. I have also attended workshops at the Circulo de Bellas Artes de Sant Lluc and the painting academy of Catalan artist Joaquim Santaló.
