Savita Rani (she/her) is a first-generation Indian immigrant settler in Canada. She is a self-taught artist/illustrator. Her primary creative practice is in visual arts, although she does write poetry and prose every so often. She employs a variety of media in her work including pen & ink, markers, acrylics, watercolour, oil pastel, and woodburning. She uses art as a means of self-preservation, healing and reflection. Her places of living, working and playing are currently fluid, but she was raised in the territories of the Chippewa, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples, referred to collectively as the Anishinaabeg (presently lambton county on canada).
