Katya Quel is a Berlin-based artist and curator. Her artistic practice is dedicated to exploring the power of a fairytale imaginary narrative hidden in the combination of materials with modern technologies in the hands of women.
Katya promotes relationships between different areas of knowledge, blurring the boundaries between artistic and academic research, theory and practice, science and fiction, design and art, culture and nature. Its aim is to make visible new forms of artistic coexistence that go beyond the traditional canons and open up other possibilities for telling ourselves and our surroundings. Katya wants to imagine worlds in stories, beings in universes, that can offer new frameworks for understanding and acting on the contemporary ecological crisis.
