Adrijan Praznik (1988, Ljubljana) graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, mentored by Žiga Kariž, MA, and co-mentored by Tomislav Vignjević, PhD. He received a scholarship for gifted students from the Municipality of Ljubljana and the Academy’s award for outstanding achievements by a student in the 2011/2012 academic year. He has exhibited at numerous (80) group and solo exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad (Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, the USA, etc.) and been an artist-in-residence in Riga, Berlin, and Ljubljana. In 2015 and 2019, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia awarded him a rarely bestowed grant for promising artists. His works feature in the collections of Imago Mundi – Luciano Benetton Collection and the International Centre of Graphic Arts. In 2017/2018, he studied at the World of Art – School for Curatorial Practices and Critical Writing. The central topic of his work is understanding and questioning the medium of painting and the relationship between contemporary man and machine.
