Born in 1966, master among Polish photographers, of a great experience and many achievements. Particularly beautiful are his portraits, which, going beyond convention of typical fashion and lifestyle magazines, from a surprising poit of view, show remarkable people as well as strangers, making the latter “recognized”. The portraits of Jacek Poremba, as he believes, intertwining with fashion, have the power of great paintings, whereas the pictures of fashion and landscapes lead the watcher into separate mysterious worlds.
“(...) portrait is a more difficult area, since often I have to do with people, who, unlike models, are afraid of a camera and a photographer. My task is to make this fear disappear. (...) For me the pictures without a man, but which can tell something about him/her, are often also portraits. They tell a story in a certain context. Huge landscape with a small human silhoulette? For me it’s a portrait too.”
He is the author of many album covers and opera posters, as well as the creator of a series of photographs of exceptional sceneries and people he met in Sudan.
