I am painter
and sculpture.
I started with architectural design. I was always sensible to the space, light
and fabric. When I worked in design, I was interested in wall painting and
creating new textures. I started experiments with different fabrics. I burned
plastics, macerated plaster, worked with stones and etc. Day by day I went
deeper and deeper into these experiments, finally I got fully engaged with art.
Materials can manifest themselves unpredictably. I create conditions for the
substance to express its qualities.
My
inspiration growth from hidden process in living matter. Not only animals and
plants. Stones, rivers, soil. It lives at such a slow pace, so we prefer to
think that it is stable. I find something, like a piece of bark, and meditate
on it for a few hours, imaging how its growth, layer by layer, how it destroys,
how it exposes by wind and light. With my art I try to expose these dark
side of nature, allowing substance to grow layer by layer into the space.
I find
myself congenial to non-human ontology and dark ecology. I want people to perceive
nature not like an object for gazing, but the entity, you can attune with,
dance with.
