Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of UADY (Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán), México 2003. Master in Advanced Architecture at the IAAC (institute of advance architecture of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain 2005. Since 2016 is member of the national fellowship for the Arts and Culture, and was part from 2012-2013 of the FONCA Young Creator program, both given by the National Endowment for the Arts and Culture. In 2001 receives a grant from US Department of Education of the United States (US FIPSE-Trilateral grant) for a semester in the University of Illinois at Chicago and previously he got a Scholarship in 1998 at University of Florida (PI: C Preservation Institute: Caribbean).Since 2009, he directs the architectural and research studio called PLUG, of which he is founder, whose speech seeks and promotes cross relationship between landscape and territory, identifying the elements that configure them and expressing their connection possibilities.IZBETH KATIA MENDOZA FRAGOSO (México, D.F. 08-09-76).Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the UADY (Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán), México 2001, and Master of Science in Management of Tropical Natural Resources (2011-2013) on the campus of Biological Sciences of the same University. Exchange Scholarships at the International Design Workshop Students of Architecture University of Florida, USA (summer 98 and 99). Awarded from the FONCA Young Artists program during the period from 2011-2012. She is partner of PLUG and Specialist, lover and defender of the wild flora of the biotic province of the Yucatan Peninsula.Their collaborations include more than 50 awards in international competitions, just to mention some of them:First Place at the XIV Costa Rica International Biennale, built landscape category; Selected Studio within the collateral exhibition “Young Architects in Latin America” at the 16th Venice Biennale; Three times nominated at the Mies Crown Hall of the Americas Prize (MCHAP) in its latest two editions; Winner in the competition “the Bench” for an installation in Winnipeg, Canada at the Design Week Fest; Top 10 selection at the Arte Laguna Prize in its 10th Edition within Land Art Category; Global Finalist and Silver prize Latin America at the Holcim Awards for sustainable construction; Millennium World Student Design Competition (first prize), 2000; 2 times winners of the 1st place in the international architectural competition ArpaFIL Guadalajara, Jalisco, First prize of the international competition for the headquarters of the Foundation for the Development of the Central Volcanic Range in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica; 2 Winner Award of the international community in its 11th Architecture Cycle; 3 CEMEX works nominated for a Second place in its 2012 and 2017 edition and Winner in its 2015 edition; The Green Dwelling Award in Atlanta, USA; The International Prize for Sustainable Architecture Fassa Bortolo in Ferrara, Italy; First Prize at the Next Landmark Competition in its 3rd edition within the research category, Milan, Italy; Nominated for a Young Architect Award from the association of architects of the Czech Republic; the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona, Spain, Next landmark award at the Venice Biennale 2012, Archmarathon awards in Maimi Edition, among many other holdings, exhibitions, conferences and publications throughout the world.Besides their professional and research activities, they teach at Marista University in Mérida, Yucatán since more than 10 years ago, also in 2010 both were guest lecturers from the University of Positive for the third international seminar workshop urban projects in the city of Curitiba, Brazil, and at the summer school at Woodbury University at Los Angeles in 2014.
