Diego Pinos is a contemporary painter whose work explores fragmentation, introspection, and the psychology of the human being. His work merges figuration with abstraction, creating a dialogue between identity, perception, and internal processes of transformation.
He trained at the Barcelona Academy of Art, where he completed an intensive drawing and painting program based on 19th-century academic methodologies adapted to contemporary art. Previously, he studied at LISAA Paris and the Universidad de las Américas in Quito. In 2025, he received the MFA Academy Scholar Award to pursue an MFA in Painting at the New York Academy of Art from 2025 to 2027.
Throughout his career, he has held multiple solo and group exhibitions in Ecuador and Spain, establishing his presence in the art scene. His work has been featured in various media, including podcasts, press articles, and cultural programs.
Alongside his artistic practice, his experience in art education has led him to teach classes and workshops on classical drawing and painting. His teaching career continues to expand, with new opportunities in Mexico as a specialized instructor.
His work is part of private collections and cultural centers, and in 2025, he will participate in a group exhibition in Berlin, further advancing his international projection.
