Artist of many faces: Painter-carpenter, sculpturer-kombajn harvester driver, son of nature and child of a late-capitalist. His name is Jozef Mária Pilát (Mária-Nickname).
He was born in Slovakia in 1992 in a family with a long tradition of farming. He spent his childhood and life in the countryside.
In 2018, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Erazmus-2015 Uniwersität der Künste in Berlin)
Nowadays, he is working on ArtD. study at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. The topic of its research is the 'Sustainability of Utopia in Postfactual age'. How the global world influences the local narratives and how the local stories can influence the global world.
In his work, he hasn't limited to only one medium. The way of expression looks more like swinging between different means of communication. In the first place, he puts the stories in which his artworks take on heroes' role, which is truly presenting persons in real narratives.
