Sonic Invasion and Ruth Lorang form an artistic collective working across light, sound and new media installations.
Sonic Invasion is a young, Luxembourg-based company that focuses on sound in all its extent. Going from Audio Design, VR Sound to Media Art, the four audio enthusiasts are exploring the diverse applicabilities and usages of sound. Having studied ‘Sound and Music Production’ in Darmstadt, Germany ; their art is built upon solid scientific knowledge and research. Through the years they developped a strong interest for technology allowing artworks to be generative and interactive. A piece of art that is constantly being metamorphosed, questions of course our concepts of matter and time. This very futuristic, scientific and almost non-materialistic vision keeps inspiring Sonic Invasion in their productions. The audio-visual installation ‘Neu.bau’ is one of their projects that shows how they perfectly marry technical skills with sleek aesthetics by the means of a unique experience.
Ruth Lorang is a young creator juggling between art, architecture and design. Puzzled by how the visual impact can transform the meaning of a concept, she does not limit her creativity to a specific field of application. It is the need to express ideas that is fueling her work. The choice of the medium to communicate those ideas depends on the subject itself. Therefore, she has a very eclectic artistic production varying from sculpture, video art, graphics, as well as architectural installations. Having absolved her studies at ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels with distinction, permitted her to develop a sense for space and concepts that range from material preoccupations to spiritual aspirations. ‘Orbites’, an artwork composed of six pieces, is probably the first one of her artworks that is showing different perspectives of a concept through various media. Still being at the beginning of her career, she is experimenting and growing with every project. Lately, she has found a fascination for sound and its possibilities to communicate with our subconsciousness and express space, emotions.
The collaboration between Ruth Lorang and Sonic Invasion allows them to merge their complementary competences in order to create meaningful content as well on an aesthetical as on a technological basis. ‘Trialogue’, an interactive sound installation which is the winning project 2018 of the yearly PRIIIX BLIIIDA, has been showcased at the Futuro’ Klatsch Festival in Metz, France and is the first collaborative product of this young collective.
