Biserka Petrovic is a
Serbian artist holding an MA degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade,
Serbia, and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy. She received
scholarships from the Italian Government, the Norwegian Government, the
Ministry of Education for Talents of Serbia, and the City of Lazarevac, Serbia,
during her studies.
From 2005 to 2015 she lived and worked in Florence, Italy. After
completing her MA at the Florentine Art Academy in 2007, she was painting and
drawing teacher at the Accademia del Giglio and the artist at the
Palazzo Strozzi Museum.
Petrovic has participated
in over 40 collective, and has held 16 juried solo shows. She has
received several awards and honorable mentions. Her works are included in
private and public art collections internationally, notably two large-scale
paintings in the open-air collection gallery Glo’ Art in Belgium. She created
the hand-painted short animation “Open Your Eyes” for the official opening of
the collection.
In 2016, Petrovic was
painter-animator for "Loving Vincent," the first-ever fully hand-painted
feature film and from 2020 until the end of 2023, she was a design painter and the
Serbian painters' team leader for " The Peasants" movie.
Petrovic has been a member
of the painters' section of ULUS, the Serbian Artists Association, since 2015.
