I am a street portraitist, every place is an opportunity to
mirror my soul with that of those who lend themselves to being my model. I have
a school education in human anatomy and morphology at the École nationale
supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris. As a child I followed my father, an architect, in the restoration of
medieval churches. I followed the restorers on the scaffolding, I was lucky
enough to see the original brushstrokes, the mixing of colors and the
restoration techniques: the transparency between drawing, colour, humidity
stains, discolorations of time, the work of saltpeter and the leaching of the wet.
All these were the imprinting that characterizes my works. I don't hide
second thoughts and I don't use deletions in my works. My adolescent initiation
rite consisted of showing up at the homes of many artists with some of my
works, wanting their point of view on my works. I was curious about their
artistic life. Nobody ever told me no and it was my true and direct artistic
education.
