Davide
Pepe was born in Puglia, in Ceglie Messapica in 1970 and he lives
and works in Bologna. Since 1995, Davide Pepe has been developing,
filming and producing artistic short films, music, dance videos and video installations.
He also works as editor, compositor, sound designer and teaches video
editing at the fine arts academy of Bologna. Since 2000 he started a
collaboration with Salvatore Bevilacqua with whom he produced
experimental short films, film installations, and experimental
photography.
His most

Film
projections for "Current 93's The light is leaving us all"
album.
"Access
Denied." series created in collaboration with Salvatore
Bevilacqua. This project, started in 2018, is an open project. It is
comprised of a series of film installations based on everyday
objects.
"Se
potessi vedere con gli occhi di Dio" series created in
collaboration with Salvatore Bevilacqua. This project, started in
2017, is an open project. It is comprised of a series of film
installations based on the observation of space from a timeless
dimension.
"Towards
green power", an emotional short film, commissioned by
Regione Puglia for the Italian Pavilion at the EXPO Astana 2017 –
FUTURE ENERGY.

HypnoHallucinatory Flicker film to be projected behind the band

Hypnopazuzu
is a new project created by David Tibet (from Current 93) and Martin
Glove (from Killing Joke)
"Arnaldo
Bigiani – For my future memory" (2016) an experimental
documentary about his neighbour Arnaldo Bigiani who died between the
24th to the 26th of June 2015. With the voice
of Arnaldo Bigiani channeled by David Tibet. It's also available as a
dual channels film and photos installation.

NEW YORK CENTRAL PARK"
presented at My Art Guides Venice Meeting Point at the Navy Officer's
Club, Arsenale, Venice from the 26th to the 28th of May 2016.
"AVVISTAMENTI
WORKSHOP – DAVIDE PEPE" at Bari Cineporto a short films
retrospective curated by Antonio Musci, Daniela di Niso, Bruno di
Marino and Massimo Causo.
"Working
around vice versa", an artistic documentary, commissioned
by Beatrice Bulgari's Cultural Associations, "Corto Arte
Circuito" and "In between Art Film", about the making
of the Italian Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale.
"Last
kodachrome 40 for a Nizo s800"(3 screen installation) at the
exhibition "Flicker:artists & Super 8" that took place
at the Bury St Edmunds Smiths Row from January to march 2013.

Hallucinatory utter film made using archival material from David
Tibetʼs own collection and photographs supplied by Jhonn Balance's
father to be projected behind the band during their concerts.
"Schrei
27" made in collaboration with the avant-garde musician,
sound and performance artist Diamanda Galás.

been selected for the World premiere at the London Spill Festival, at

"Cities"
series created in collaboration with Salvatore Bevilacqua. This
project, started in 2006, is still a work in progress. It is
comprised of several cities lanscapes shot around the world. At the
moment it includes Bologna, Dusseldorf, New York, Winterthur,
Marzamemi (Sicily), Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) and London.
Dusseldorf has been presented at Julia Stoschek's "Collection
Number 5: Cities of Gold and Mirrors" July 2011-August 2012, and
one copy is part of Beatrice and Nicola Bulgari's Art Collection.
"People"
series created in collaboration with Salvatore Bevilacqua. This
project, started in 2012, is still a work in progress. It is
comprised of several people portraits. At the moment it includes
"David Tibet", the English leader of the historical
avant-garde group Current 93, "The Grandmother" and "The
girl with a Pistol".
"Giardini
di Luce" that has been selected at the 60th Berlin Film
festival – Berlinale Shorts Competition;
"Simple
present – Future Perfect" and "A piece of my sky
is missing – Famiglia di gru con nido" at the Minneapolis
Walker Art Center. September 2010 - February 2011;
"Last
Kodachrome 40 for a Nizo S800" that has been awarded as the
best italian short film at the Venice Circuito Off in the 2008 and it
also won the second prize at the
babelgum
online film festival. (Made in collaboration with Salvatore
Bevilacqua)

In the
2004 he started a collaboration with James Mackay, the producer of
Derek Jarman with whom he is still working on new projects for a
video installations.
He also
collaborate with other important avant-garde artists and musicians
like David Tibet (Current 93) and Steven Stapleton (Nurse with
Wound).
