I am an emerging artist who uses the beauty of horses to portray strength, freedom, and introspection. My unique approach stems from my passion, deep sensitivity, and profound understanding of animals—particularly horses. This allows me to convey their essence with authenticity and emotion. Through my art, I strive to establish a profound connection between nature and emotion, inviting viewers to discover the harmonious balance between power and delicacy.
My artistic journey has been shaped by a blend of formal instruction and a relentless desire for self-discovery. I’ve had the privilege of learning from renowned master José Bayro Corrochano at the Visual Expression Workshop and Maestra Myrna Lagunes Zaldívar at the Art Workshop, I’m currently learning at the Taller El Gallo with master Gustavo Tanuz, exploring clay sculpture. As an autodidact, I continuously seek to explore and refine new techniques, such as watercolor, while remaining open to new artistic methods. This fusion of structured guidance and independent exploration fuels my creativity and artistic growth."
As an emerging artist, I had the honor of presenting my first solo exhibition, 'Caballos: Symbols of Freedom, Resilience, Majesty, Spirit, Determination, and Courage,' at Galería Garco in 2024. I have also participated in three collective exhibitions, including:
Exposición Colectiva: Inauguración Galería Garco (2024)
José Bayro C. y sus alumnos: Más vale pincel en mano que cuchillo de palo (2024)
Surrealismo Mexicano: México, el país más surrealista del mundo, a tribute to Sofía Bassi at Museo Regional de Cholula (2024).
My artistic style is contemporary, with a strong focus on capturing the spirit and emotions of horses. I predominantly work with acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media, while also experimenting with oils and crosshatching techniques. Currently, I am delving into the use of Chinese ink, a medium that allows me to elevate the expressive qualities of my work, adding depth and dynamic contrast. The horses in my paintings are more than mere subjects—they are vessels for individuality and emotional depth. My aim is to bring each horse’s distinct personality to life, infusing the canvas with their energy and spirit. What fascinates me most about horses is their ability to reflect the inner emotional state of the viewer. Each horse in my work evokes different reactions: some see strength and a passion for life, while others notice grace and refinement in the horse’s form."
What draws me to horses is how they amplify human emotions. Through these majestic creatures, we are able to confront our own reflections, understanding our deepest emotions and the qualities we carry within. Each piece is unique, as the horse mirrors the viewer’s internal world, making the work an interactive emotional experience. As an artist, my purpose is to create pieces that inspire introspection and evoke an emotional connection with nature. Through my focus on horses, I aim to amplify their role as mirrors of human emotion, highlighting their beauty, strength, and individuality. I hope my art becomes a source of reflection, helping viewers explore their own emotions and reconnect with the natural world. Ultimately, I aspire for my work to leave a lasting impression, celebrating the harmony between humanity and nature while encouraging a deeper understanding of both."
