I'm Nicola Pavan, born in 1991. I grew up in Volpago del Montello, in the province of Treviso. After graduating in computer science in 2010, by chance I discovered my passion for wood during the summer after high school, when I started working for a carpentry in the area (2010-2013). Here I discovered its grain, shades and differente essences. I learnt to work it and for every single "waste" I pause mentally to understand what I could get from it. In the same period i started a collaboration with the Home Rock Bar of Treviso, known for being the organizer of the Home Festival. Thanks to this friendship i had the possibility to menage my own guitar stand, during this big musical events, where my instruments where played by visitors.
Every single edition of the festival was a challenge to dialogue with professionals and/or amateurs from the world of music, there was no lack of compliments, as well as criticisms. They were very intense and full of enthusiasm in seeing visitors play my instruments, sometimes even in electrifying jam sessions.
The experience at Home, the energy transmitted by the enthusiasm of the artists and participants for my guitars then led me to make a professional choice in this direction, namely in the manufacturing and artisan field of guitar making.
From September 2013 to June 2017 I then attended the Civic School of Violin Making in Milan, obtaining the diploma of "Master luthier". On this journey I have been supported by master luthiers recognized all over the world, such as Lorenzo Lippi and Federico Gabrielli, who in addition to teaching me an ancient trade have transmitted to me the passion and dedication needed to carry it out.
Currently I also collaborate as a set-up at the European Cultural Center foundation (Venice, https://europeanculturalcentre.eu) carrying on my projects in the creation of musical instruments, works and wood sculptures.
To date, traveling and discovering new environments and stimulating people allows me to impress in my creations, whether they are tools or works, an artistic vein increasingly present in my personalizations linked to the material of wood declined in all its forms and representations.
