Born in 1988 and raised in a small village in Punjab, India,
Sorav Partap comes from a farming background. He went on to study architecture
in Chandigarh and later pursued urbanism in Frankfurt, Germany. Since 2014, He
has lived in Europe, and has been based in Basel, Switzerland, since 2019.
Over the past ten years, he has built a diverse professional
portfolio, including two years at Raj Rewal Associates in India, one year at
Gerber Architekten in Germany, and six and a half years at Herzog & de
Meuron in Basel. Since early 2025, he has been independently developing a
housing project for a developer based in Basel.
In parallel with his architectural practice, he is an
independent researcher focused on identifying tools and strategies that support
planned organic urbanism. His academic work has been presented at TU
Dortmund, TU Berlin, and ETH Zurich.
He lives in Basel with his husband, a theatre artist.
The work presented here marks his first project as an artist.
