Umberto Parisi was born in Turin 53 years ago and he lives in
Avigliana – TO, Italy.
He has three important personal exhibitions behind him: “Anime
e Petali” at the Miit in Turin in 2016, “Carte d'Arte”, held in Bologna in 2017
and the last one “The Colors of the Soul” held in May 2024 at the
prestigious “Raissa Gorbaciova” Art Gallery in Torre Canavese – TO.
Parisi's passion for art was born about thirty
years ago, when he had the opportunity to visit an exhibition at the Castello
di Rivoli near Turin.
From that moment, he began, practically
self-taught, to create his acrylics on large sheets of wrapping paper. His art
is life, color, feeling, strength, energy that explodes in geometric shapes,
figurative works, flowers or trees. The strength of the lines and the features,
sometimes soft and sometimes geometric, recall the cubist brushstroke without
abandoning a contemporary search for the profound, for the nuances of the human
soul between light and shadow. Parisi openly declares: “I am not inspired by
any other artist. I want to paint with emotions. I worry about color first and
then technique. That's everything for me! With color I face all the emotions of
the soul. My reds, black, contrasts play a fundamental role. For me, nature is
the ideal dimension for creating. Art is freedom of expression and a way to
give my soul the opportunity to communicate with the world."
