I am an Italian painter who grew up in the art studios of my father (Antonio Pagnotta, 1939, painter) and my father-in-law (Giuseppe De Lucia, 1926, sculptor). I have a degree in Social Sciences. I use art as a vehicle to share with viewers my reflections on the paradoxes that characterise our species and our times. My artistic style is inspired by classical figurative art; the themes concern a confused humanity in which raw aspects and contradictions coexist with sensitivity and beauty. The possibility of redemption is always present but so hidden as to be almost invisible. I seek harmony between seemingly dissonant things, uniting them in a clear and light style. The predominant technique is oil painting, combined with mixed media. The main colours are earth tones together with cobalt blue and ultramarine blue.
