Silvia Ottobrini
unwittingly born an artist, the spontaneous attitude not understood obliges her to obtain a diploma which she does not realize, so she opens a double-entry shop in the historic center of Sestri Levante, with a section dedicated to fine arts.
She collaborates with all the best companies both in sales and in teaching techniques.
In 2006 she chooses to leave the business, works as a free lance and starts a completely free from schemes creating furnishing objects for unconventional homes. The search for vintage elements returns in her art expression, and antiquity makes the style proposed unique. She participates in various events and sector events in which is repeatedly awarded.
In 2015 she published a collection of thoughts entitled "The simple things", her poems has been published in several anthologies. Painting and photography are felt as an expression of the most intimate thought and began a new artistic path linked to souls, thanks to which she investigated 'the invisible' dedicating herself to the study of Victorian era, the historical significance of fairy tales and soul existence, especially of unborn children. The use of bisque miniature dolls often broken and recovered only in part represents the incomprehensible sensation full of meanings and visions, which moves in a space-time fragment outside of tangible time.
Her approach to art is full of symbolism, it is deconstruction, a careful analysis of what does not appear. There is pain, wound, scar, a vision that goes beyond the visible and transforms itself into sculpture, drawing, installation.
In 2021 she made the video performance entitled "What do you see?" of which she is the protagonist, a short movie dedicated to women, structured so that the viewer can decide whether to stop at the appearance or look beyond, finding the courage to recognize what often remains hidden.
She
works in her studio in Sestri Levante, and exhibits in her atelier
and art gallery in Palazzo Gianelli, an historical building in
Castiglione Chiavarese.
