The smell of oil paint, beautiful colors, brushes and a blank canvas. Then I step into my own world and paint a landscape or cityscape that makes me happy. I am Kees Oosting, a visual artist through and through. A dreamer who, in sometimes ugly times, wants to flee into a different colored world. In my paintings you can fantasize about a world where you can pause in the scent of the landscape or the beauty of our past. The silence and tranquility can almost be felt in my paintings. Inspired by Umbria, my second home, I want to create a world where you don't have to do anything. Where you can dream away from a world of fast and must. I tell my story in unique paintings of high quality. But what I find even more important is that you find your own story in my compositions. Join me on a journey to a world we are in danger of forgetting. In my newest series 'Ancient Future' I fantasize about how the world would look like in 500 year and do we still see things of our past and what is the role of humans.
