I discovered my love for painting when I was just eight years old. It all started with drawing animals using charcoal, a medium that fascinated me for its simplicity and depth. Those early years were filled with countless hours spent refining my skills with charcoal, exploring the subtleties of shading and texture.
As I grew older, my artistic journey led me to experiment with oil paints. This new medium opened up a world of vibrant colors and complex techniques that challenged and excited me in equal measure. Although I participated in a few art competitions, they were of little importance compared to the personal satisfaction I found in creating art.
However, the most profound shift in my creative life occurred after I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Surprisingly, this diagnosis ignited a new wave of creativity within me. The constraints imposed by the disease seemed to unlock a deeper well of artistic expression, pushing me to explore new techniques such as acrylics and to revisit my old companion, charcoal. This period has been one of intense exploration as I seek to define my artistic focus.
While I’m still in the process of discovering my own style, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for figurative painting. I find myself drawn to photographs that evoke strong emotions, which I then translate onto paper. Each stroke is an attempt to capture the essence of those images, to convey the feelings they inspire in me.
Though my style is still evolving, I believe that sharing my work with others could be a crucial step in finding my true artistic voice. My passion for painting continues to grow, fueled by the challenges and discoveries of this journey. I am eager to see where this path will lead and how my art will develop as I continue to explore the depths of my creativity.
