Yasuo Oda (b. Japan) is a digital artist based in the United States.
Trained as an architect at Waseda University (M.Arch, 1987) and the University of Pennsylvania (M.Arch, 1995, Fulbright Scholar), he developed a sensitivity to light, space, and atmosphere that continues to inform his artistic practice.
Oda is known for pioneering techniques such as Digital Blend and Digital Naturalism, which use photographic fragments and digital layers to create fields of transparency and depth. His work treats light as the essence of existence—an origin we sense, remember, and return to. Since launching his full-scale digital practice in 2024, his abstract, light-based works have been recognized for their perceptual clarity and chromatic resonance.
Recent exhibitions include The Gift of Beatles Colors (Omotesando Gallery Dojunkai, Tokyo, 2024). He has been featured in Artist Closeup and Spotlight #40, and his work appears in the Art Investment & Collectors Guide 2025. In 2025, he received the Award of Excellence at a New York City exhibition for innovation in digital abstraction.
