Ammar Obeid is a filmmaker , actor, and writer, born in Sweida city - Syria in 1993 and based in Berlin since 2017. He studied Japanese Literature in Damascus University 2010 - 2015, and completed a Screen Acting diploma at Catalyst Berlin in 2024. He began in theatre in 2007 before moving into film and video art. His documentary Would You Play It Again? won Best Short Documentary in Germany at Festival Capital Filmmakers Berlin in 2023 and screened in Macau the same year. He served on the Macau international film festival for Documentary Film jury in 2024 and in 2026 as Fictional Film Jury as well . In 2021, he created The Door, the world’s first audible comic book, and wrote, directed, and performed the solo play Kiosk 333 in Berlin - Funkhaus in 2023
