O'Donovan

Eva O'Donovan is an Irish oil painter based in Dublin.  Eva graduated from Ireland's premier 'National College of Art and Design' as a mature student in 2017.

Pieces of her work have been bought by the Irish government for the State Art Collection.  Her highly sought-after pieces feature in many prestigious private and commercial collections both nationally and worldwide.  Her work was the focus of a programme produced and filmed by the Irish national broadcaster RTE.  Features about Eva can also be seen in magazines and online in publications such as Marie Claire Maison Italia, Dazzle magazine Japan, Residence magazine The Netherlands, Flower Magazine USA, Designers Today USA along with most Irish publications.

Diverse Female-centric figures painted in oils emerge with a sense of cinematic drama from the already printed and often historical textiles that Eva transforms into canvases.  These patterned fabrics represent the domestic, Style, taste and historical eras.  

O'Donovan's interactions with the textiles refer to memories growing up of the family projecting images onto household objects from the remaining cinema projectors from her Maternal grandfather's traveling cinema and entertainment when he settled in Ireland from Sicily.
