Artist Nathalie Nilsen (b. 1983)

Nathalie uses her whole body as a brush in her work, immersing herself completely in each piece. Her art reveals profound vulnerability and depth, capturing her passions with a playful and dynamic approach. Employing materials like acrylics, chalk, charcoal, oil pastels, and gold, she draws inspiration from everyday life, highlighting dance, tears, and joy.

With over ten years as a dress designer and 15 years as a chef in top Norwegian restaurants, Nathalie’s attention to detail and creativity are exceptional. Now focused on visual art, she has organized several exhibitions and events across Østlandet and Sørlandet, delivering performances that include both her paintings and live art.

Nathalie is the fourth generation of artists in her family and continued her education at Prosjektskolen Art School, graduating in 2022. She also embodies UR song and demonstrates her musical skills by playing her gong and deer drum during her performances. Her work begins with closed eyes, encouraging exploration over judgment and aiming to evoke both fun and calmness through the beauty and vulnerability of our shared experiences of being alive.
