Raw patterns and colour in industrial forms, architecture, or natural environments centre my pieces. I am moved by surrealism in living spaces. Growing up in the surrounding countryside of Saskatchewan, I am attracted to rural landscapes and raw brutal elements.
My discipline is painting and illustration, and is inspired by the magical west coast landscape, modernism, and architectural design. My approach is to dissect patterns in forms in modern architecture, using a more innocent language. My style and expressiveness is meant to feel tangible, and unguarded. I want my work to be playful at heart.
I studied my BFA in Vancouver Canada, at Emily Carr University and majored in Illustration. I work in a modernist design store heavily influenced by the architectural design community. It was there I fell in love with architecture, and developed a relationship with the design community.
