David Newson-Tran is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores mortality, family, and identity. Born in the U.S., he immigrated to Australia in his

twenties, seeking distance from the unrest and political climate of the states. After settling in Sydney in 2013, his practice became a private way to

process personal loss and the weight of inherited expectations. After a decade away from exhibiting, he returns to art as a way to reflect on what’s been

lost, what remains, and how those experiences shape the present.
