José Miguel
Costa Silveira Soares (aka Miguel Silveira) was born in Lisbon in 1983. From 2003 - 2006 he worked in
several productions at the Teatro Experimental de Cascais. In 2007 he began to
work as an actor and pedagoge with the Lisbon University Theatre. With the play
“The Mission” (Heiner Müller) he won the first prize at the FATAL academic Festival
in Lisbon. From 2007 to 2010 he studied acting at the Lisbon School of Theater
and Cinema. In 2008 he won a scholarship to the London Academy for Music and
Dramatic. After gaining experience in radio and TV, he has been colaborating as
a freelancer with NEUER TANZ (Düsseldorf) since 2019. In 2020 he began a
Masters in Web Science at the University of Applied Sciences of Cologne. In 2020
he initiated the “j newmann” art project. As part of this project, the piece “skeleton
dance” has been selected for the Lisbon Film Rendezvous festival and the Arte
Laguna Word 2022 in Venice.
