My artistic experience began in 2007 and I can define myself to all intents and purposes as self-taught.
Experimentation with different pictorial styles and techniques has always accompanied my works. The passion for drawing, born at a young age, meant that I took my first steps in the figurative field, although I have always felt very attracted to abstract art.
After a few years of activity I had the opportunity to participate in some group exhibitions and to be able to present my first solo exhibition.
Both out of necessity and for pleasure, I use different techniques and materials, even if the preferred support has always been canvas. In my works, as in life, order can give way to chaos. So in my art you can find straight lines arranged in an orderly way that define the space. Sometimes, however, the colors are spread gesturally on the canvas as if to leave an imprint, a scratch, a trace, in other cases they are used very diluted to create light contrasts, shadows, shades. In addition to acrylic colors, other materials such as wood, ropes, gauze, screws and nails enrich, complete and sometimes give meaning to the work itself.
In 2017 I started using rust in my works. It is the measure and consistency of time, it represents change. In some cases it is the dominant element of my works while in others it is present in a discreet way and serves to enrich the composition with meaning.
My art is driven by introspection as well as reflections on the world around us and on the events that can directly or indirectly affect us. In my works, with a strong abstract connotation, you can find references to post minimalism and informal art.
Time and change are often depicted in my artworks and find body and matter through them.
